The Gaelic word for tartan is 'breacon' which means 'chequered' and the first tartans were simple checks of two or three colours. The original dyes were obtained from native plants and the old tartans were, therefore, woven in soft colours of quiet beauty. We feel the subtlety of these engraved designs reflect this tradition.
Engraving: we can arrange engraving at a charge of 30p (0.3 UK pounds) per letter, with a minimum charge of 5 pounds. We surcharge this after ordering; it is not shown on the checkout page, but will be on your receipt email after your order is charged. Please note that engraving adds 1-2 weeks to the delivery time.
