Luga: the Irish name for the Celtic sun god and a partial member of the Fomoril sea gods who challenged the Tuatha De Danann for control of Ireland. His grandfather Balor had heard the prophesy that he would die at the hands of his own grandson and so locked his daughter away in a crystal tower. But a son of Dian Cecht managed to gain entry and she gave birth to triplets. Two were turned into seals and Luga, the third, escaped and became a great warrior. He eventually took over leadership of the De Danann and killed Balor with a sling shot.
