Claddagh is one of the oldest fishing villages in Ireland. Legend has it that at one time a young man from the village named Richard Joyce was abducted by Moorish pirates whilst out fishing. He was taken to Tunisia and there learnt the skills of a goldsmith. Upon receiving his freedom many years later he was offered a great wealth and the hand of a rich man's daughter, but instead chose to return to Claddagh where his true love awaited him. He married her and set up a goldsmith store, creating the Claddagh ring with its crown, to represent loyalty, hands, representing friendship, and a heart, for love. This solid dress ring has an additional sparkle with its crystal lining.
The product is supplied in padded packaging containing a brief history of the design. High quality presentation boxes are available at an additional charge, if required.

This ring is absolutely gorgeous, it looks great on men and women. The quality of the silver is evidently good and heavy so you know it won't bend when put on pressure. Unfortunately it was a size too big for my boyfriend so he couldn't wear it on his right ring finger,so an exchange is in progress. But this dress ring looks good worn casually and on special occassions. The only downfall is that the diamonds are too small, if it was for a woman anyway.
