Balmoral Made to Measure Crail Tweed Jacket in 5 colours
Produced to your own specifications with bespoke made to measure tailoring, this Crail jacket in tweed will hang perfectly and be treasured for years to come.
Every gentleman should have the opportunity to feel the bespoke quality of tailoring that goes into a made to measure jacket, not to mention the time and dedication. The semiformal Crail day/evening jacket is similar in most ways to the Argyll (or Argyle) jacket, but with plain cuffs for less formality. Tailored from tweed, this jacket will add an iconic air of gentry to the wearers dress and, by subtly changing the accessories worn with it, easily alter its look, for day or evening wear.
How we make it:
Our Crail jackets are made from top quality 13oz 100% pure new wool tweed cloth, with a single button on the front, two side vents, cuffs with 3 buttons, pocket flaps with 3 buttons, and flat cloth epaulettes. All buttons have washer and ring fittings.
When to wear it:
A Crail outfit would often be seen at Scottish social events such as ceilidhs, Highland Games, or simply as general office or day wear when out and about. An outfit including the Crail jacket is also perfectly acceptable for guests at weddings.
What to wear it with:
When worn as part of a Highland Dress outfit, the Crail jacket would normally be accompanied by either a day or semi-dress sporran, together with a standard collar shirt and perhaps a bow tie, silver-grey tie or self-coloured tie. It will even look great with a Jacobite shirt. But like the Argyll, the Crail is very versatile and is not limited to use with a kilt. It can be worn with or without a vest (waistcoat) every day with trews or even ordinary trousers. It particularly suits a self-coloured or silver-grey tie, tartan tie, or cravat.
Your Choices:
We suggest bone as standard, but you can specify Silver Gilt or Antique Silver buttons if you prefer.

Scotweb’s MD, Dr Nicholas J Fiddes, has written a free illustrated e-book, as a gift to help kilt lovers everywhere. In simple non-technical language it covers every aspect of buying a kilt, choosing your tartan, and accessorising an outfit for every occasion.
As a Governor of the Scottish Tartans Authority, and founder of the world’s first company to market kilts on the Internet (yes, Scotweb) no one is better qualified to offer such advice. Impartial and objective, this is a personal work and is not a Scotweb publication.
I am very impressed with this jacket. I have always had to have any jacket modified slightly for it to fit right. This jacket was made exactly to the measurements I provided and fits perfectly. I liked the fit so well, I have also ordered a formal jacket from Kiltstore.
