Balmoral Made to Measure Argyll Tweed Jacket in 5 colours
Experience the feeling of a jacket tailored to your exact specifications, from traditional Scottish materials and techniques, finished in the iconic luxury of tweed.
Every gentleman should have the opportunity to feel the bespoke quality of tailoring that goes into a made to measure jacket, not to mention the time and dedication. As this jacket is tailored from tweed, the wearer will add an iconic air of gentry to his evening dress. By subtly changing the accessories worn with it, this Argyll (or Argyle) jacket can easily alter its formality, for either day or evening wear.
How we make it:
Our Tweed Argyll jackets are made from top quality, 13oz, 100% pure new wool tweed cloth from Scottish mills, with a single button on the front, two side vents, cuffs with 3 buttons, pocket flaps with 3 buttons, and flat cloth epaulettes. All buttons have washer and ring fittings.
When to wear it:
Any social event. Ceilidhs, Highland Games, or even a day on the moors. An outfit including the Tweed Argyll jacket is also perfectly acceptable for guests at weddings. Or general everyday wear at work or when out and about.
What to wear it with:
When part of a Highland Dress outfit, the Tweed Argyll jacket would normally be worn with a kilt in any tartan, and either a day or semi-dress sporran, plus a standard collar shirt, a self-coloured, silver-grey, or even tartan tie, or perhaps a bow tie or cravat. It will even look great with a Jacobite shirt. In fact Tweed Argyll jackets need not only be worn with a kilt, but can go well with a vest/waistcoat, trews, or even ordinary trousers.
Your Choices:
We suggest bone buttons as standard, but you can specify Silver Gilt or Antique Silver buttons if you prefer.

Scotweb’s MD, Dr Nicholas J Fiddes, has written a free illustrated e-book, as a gift to help kilt lovers everywhere. In simple non-technical language it covers every aspect of buying a kilt, choosing your tartan, and accessorising an outfit for every occasion.
As a Governor of the Scottish Tartans Authority, and founder of the world’s first company to market kilts on the Internet (yes, Scotweb) no one is better qualified to offer such advice. Impartial and objective, this is a personal work and is not a Scotweb publication.
The Balmoral made-to-measure gray tweed argyle jacket and vest fit perfectly and give a very sharp look. I am extremely satisfied, and intend to order from Scotweb for my future Highland wear needs.
